The Property Brothers Home Design
In 2022, I joined Storm8 Studios as their Studio Art Director. As such, I managed the production of all of the content and contributed to the 2D design of their mobile design games: Home Design Makeover, Property Brothers Home Design, and the short-lived Ellen's Garden Restoration.
Below is a selection of work showing my designs and different aspects of the 2D design process for Property Brothers Home Design. Before starting at Storm8, my only knowledge of interior design came from watching HGTV, so this was a fun learning experience!

Limited Time Event: "A Nursery with Room to Grow"

Mood boards: research and mood board creation were the first steps in the design process. Each room required 3 distinct designs where elements could be mixed and matched by players.

From there, a 3D block-in was created in Maya. This was used to work out the scale and layout of the room. For this, we used existing models and manipulated the room as needed to create the desired layout.

After this step, 4 concepts were created based on the earlier research and mood boards. These designs were made with visual design, player experience, and budget in mind. From here, the work was sent out to external vendors who would model and texture the room.

The final art was then added to the game, set up, and lit by a 3D artist. The design of this room is mine, but the 3D implementation and lighting were done by another artist.

Limited Time Event: Sweepstakes Winner

This Limited-Time Event is a bit different from the others as it is a grand prize for a sweepstakes winner. The beginning room is actually based on a real player's room (photos provided to us), which we then remake based on their design preferences.
This player noted that they like color and bold design. I used the tile in the kitchen to bring some fun into the space without being overwhelming.
